Utkal TV (UTv) was born in berhampur way back in 1997 as first cable news channel of odisha, much ahead of boom of odia news channels. It was rechristened in april 2001. Since its beginning it has remained major voice of citizens of berhampur and ganjam district. During tasking timer of natural calamities like Super Cyclone of 1999, Phailin of 2013, Titli of 2018 and Fani of 2019, it was an active media friend of people of berhampur and ganjam. It has always provided platform for issues, problems, developments, art, culture and tradition of the locality to shine before the world. Past anchors, reporters and camera persons of this institution are now strong pillars of foundation of several major news channels.
